The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rivers State chapter, has alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) manipulated the Edo governorship election and vowed not to tolerate such in the coming rerun polls in the state.
Rivers PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr Sam Nwanosike, who stated this weekend in Port Harcourt, argued that the result INEC released in the just concluded Edo governorship election, which returned the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the ruling party, was opposite of results collated at most of the polling units.
“The result that was announced in Edo State did not correspond with the results collated from most of the polling units. We commend former President Jonathan for showing Nigerians that he could supervise a credible election. As an opposition party candidate, the outgoing governor of Edo State won an election conducted by the PDP. But today, they will not allow the will of the people in that state to prevail,” he said.

The party then called on INEC to fix a date for the rerun elections in the state, adding that the PDP will not allow any move by INEC to declare fictitious results.
Nwanosike extoled former President Goodluck Jonathan, whom according to him gave Nigerians free, fair, credible and transparent elections and recalled that the election conducted by the former President in Edo State, which returned Adams Oshiomhole, allowed people to vote whom they wanted and was not manipulated.
