‘Aba’ girls reportedly start having sex & regular boyfriends at the age of 10/12

‘Aba’ girls reportedly start having sex & regular boyfriends at the age of 10/12

Dr Godwin Uwaoma, a medical practitioner,  said on Monday that girls in Aba, Abia State, engage in active sexual activities from the age of 10, raising higher chances of contracting HIV.

Uwaoma, the Chairman of the Thematic Working Group at the Nigerian Faith Based Advisory Council for AIDS (NFACA), told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Aba that a 2014 research revealed the development.

He said that the study was conducted to find out the awareness of preventive measures among youths in the secondary schools for the Department of Public Health at the Imo State University.

“We discovered that some girls in Aba start sexual activities at the age 10 to 12 and that at the age of 12, girls in Aba have “regular boyfriends” with whom they agree to have sex regularly.

This was not known before. Usually HIV prevention was targeted at age 15 upward but we now know that before 15 they have become sexually active. And there is a lot of difference between when you are forced into it and you remove yourself thereafter and when at this age you now have a regular partner.”

Knife-wielding man shot dead outside US embassy in Kenya (Photos/Video)

A suspected Al-Shabaab terrorist armed with a knife was shot dead outside the US embassy in Nairobi, Kenya on Thursday, October 27th, after stabbing one of the officers guarding the premises.
The suspect later identified as 24-year-old Somali was trying to forcibly gain entry into the embassy when he was blocked by the Kenya officer manning the visa section. A confrontation ensued during which the man took out a knife he had hidden in his trousers and attacked the policeman, stabbing him in the head and chest.

“The suspect is a male of Somali origin. The knife has been recovered, body is still at the scene” Gigiri OCPD Vitalis Otiene told Nation.co.ke.
He said the injured officer shot him in self defence as the man also tried to grab his gun. FBI agents and Kenyan authorities reported to the scene. They said the man was with two others who ran away after the shooting.

However, police spokesman George Kinoti said: “It was a lone criminal who attacked a police officer.” He added that said investigations will establish motive for the attack.

US embassy spokeswoman Fiona Evans confirmed the shooting in a statement but said no embassy personnel were involved.

“The US Embassy confirms there was a shooting incident near the Embassy. No Embassy personnel were involved. We reffer you to Kenyan authorities for further details,” the statement reads

25 human skulls found in militants’ shrine in Bayelsa State (Photos)

25 human skulls found in militants’ shrine in Bayelsa State (Photos)

Some troops of Operation DELTA SAFE in Southern Cross River State discovered four militant shrines with 23 human skulls in various stages of decomposition, one complete human skeleton, and several other human body parts.

According to an official statement issued on Thursday and signed by Kevin Aligbe, the group’s Acting Commander, the shrines were destroyed as troops continue the search for the perpetrators of these heinous acts.
In a related development, the statement said other troops of the command in Bayelsa State arrested 44 members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) at Lakeview Club on Mabinton Estate.

It said the group was planning to establish the Bayelsa State Chapter of the group and disrupt public peace within the Joint Operations Area of Operation DELTA SAFE.

“They were duly arrested and have been handed over to relevant authorities for further investigations. The unity of Nigeria is non–negotiable and sacrosanct. Hence any unlawful gathering that will cause mayhem, threaten the unity and sovereignty of the country will not be condoned.”

Brig. General Aligbe said the raid in which the human skulls and remains were found covered Ikot Ene Idem, Abakpa and Ikang Inam in Bakassi and Akpabuyo Local Government Areas of Cross River State, following a tip-off.

“With the clearance of these shrines, the Bakassi Strike Force have effectively been smoked out from the area they used to hold sway. It should be noted that the senseless killing of humans for ritual purposes is sacrilegious and will not be tolerated in any form.”

Bank W shares inspirational photo of when he worked multiple jobs while in University to pay for studio time

Banky W. shared this inspirational photo of when he worked multiple jobs while still in the University to pay for studio time. He encouraged people to work hard, believe in themselves and God, that dreams can come true. Read what he wrote below:

LOOOOLLL ? @captdemuren remember this bruh?? Picture taken from the first newspaper article ever written about EME. 2003 or thereabout, upstate NY. Back when we used to work multiple jobs while in Uni, to pay for studio time. Back when we used to call you Donnie LOL. Back when my beard was as thin and tiny as my bank account, and my hair wasn’t gone with the wind ??. Back when it was nothing but a dream. But the moral of the story is… if you work your ass off, believe in God, believe in yourself, and never give up, dreams really can come true.

Scientists Finally Uncover the Tomb that Held the Body of Jesus Christ for the First Time in Centuries (Photos)

Scientists Finally Uncover the Tomb that Held the Body of Jesus Christ for the First Time in Centuries (Photos)

Scientists have uncovered the slab holding the body of Jesus Christ for the first time in centuries.
The burial slab (pictured being revealed from its marble case) many Christians believe once held the body of Jesus Christ
The burial slab that many Christians believe once held the body of Jesus Christ has been uncovered by scientists for the first time in centuries.
The original surface was exposed during the restoration work being done at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in the Old City of Jerusalem, according to the National Geographic.
Until then, marble had encased the slab since at least 1555 AD.
The organization is filming the work being done at the church, which is considered the most sacred site in Christianity.
Fredrik Hiebert, the National Geographic Society’s archaeologist-in-residence, said: ‘The marble covering of the tomb has been pulled back, and we were surprised by the amount of fill material beneath it.
‘It will be a long scientific analysis, but we will finally be able to see the original rock surface on which, according to tradition, the body of Christ was laid.’
Christian tradition says Christ’s body was laid on a slab cut from a limestone cave after his crucifixion by the Romans more than two thousand years ago.
He was resurrected three days after his death, according to scripture, and the women who came to anoint his body said no remains were found.
The burial slab was enclosed in a structure known as the Edicule – a word derived from the Latin term aedicule meaning ‘little house.’
An ornate structure with hanging oil lamps, columns and oversize candlesticks, the Edicule was erected above the spot where Christian tradition says Jesus’ body was anointed, wrapped in cloth and buried before his resurrection.
It stands a few hundred yards from the site of Jesus’ crucifixion.
With its stone staircases, gilded ornamentation and many dark chambers, the church is one of Christianity’s holiest shrines.
But that hasn’t stopped clerics from engaging in turf rivalries over the years.
The Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox and Armenian churches are responsible for maintaining separate sections, and each denomination jealously guards its domain. While the clergymen who work and pray at the church generally get along, tensions can rise to the surface. In 2008, an argument between Greek Orthodox and Armenian monks erupted into a brawl.
This time, the clergymen put aside their differences — a reflection of the dire need for the repairs. Last year, Israeli police briefly shut down the building after Israel’s Antiquities Authority deemed it unsafe, prompting the Christian denominations to join forces.
The Edicule and the tomb are currently being restored by scientists from the National Technical University of Athens.
The university’s chief scientific supervisor Professor Antonia Moropoulou told National Geographic that it is ‘the critical moment’ for restoring the Edicule.
It was last reconstructed in the early 19th century after a fire destroyed it. But repairs are long overdue as the structure it was damaged in an earthquake in 1927.
Lack of financial resources prevented the work from being done, but donors to the project – estimated at more than $4 million (£3.26 million) – include Jordan’s King Abdullah II, and Mica Ertegun, who gave $1.3 million (£1.06 million) to the World Monuments Fund to support it.
Earlier this year, the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem, as well as the the Roman Catholic Church, and the Armenian Orthodox Church (the three main out of six Christian sects that have custody of the church) invited the NTU to lead the restoration project.
Work is expected to be complete in the spring of 2017. The church, one of the world’s oldest, was built in 325 A.D. by the Roman Emperor Constantine.
That structure was destroyed in 1009 by Muslim Caliph al-Hakim. A 12th-century restoration by the Crusaders gave the Holy Sepulchre its current appearance, while in 1808 a fire all but destroyed the Edicule.
In 1852, the Ottoman authorities then governing the Holy Land provided a framework for resolving disputes inside the church.
They put into effect the ‘status quo,’ a set of historic laws and power-sharing arrangements that rigidly regulates the denominations’ activities inside the Holy Sepulchre.
The Rev. Athanasius Macora, a Franciscan monk who represents the Catholics at the inter-church commission that negotiates disputes at the Holy Sepulchre, said the renovation might have been more ambitious if not for the status quo rules.
‘I personally would have liked to maybe contemplate some alternative to simply restoring the current structure. But because the status quo is so conservative in its nature . we had to more or less accept the fact that there would be no change whatsoever to the current structure, and it would be restored as it is now,’ he said.
Still, for pilgrims like Italian Claudio Pardini, the restoration is ‘an important sign’ that all of the Christian churches are getting together to preserve their faith’s traditions.

‘It’s good to take care of our churches so that we can leave the next generations a sign, something to visit,’ he said. ‘Because Christ isn’t an idea. He’s a story.’

Rob Kardashian investigated for threatening Pilot Jones for hanging with Blac Chyna

Rob Kardashian investigated for threatening Pilot Jones for hanging with Blac Chyna

MediaTakeOut released the story of Pilot Jones claiming paternity to pregnant Blac Chyna’s unborn baby, then, Radar Online went digging and released photos of Blac Chyna kissing Pilot Jones who she reportedly dated sometime during one of her break-ups with Rob Kardashian

Well, these did not go down well with Rob as he is under criminal investigation for allegedly threatening him with some pretty close ties to Blac Chyna.

According to Fameolousent,

Rob allegedly physically threatened Pilot Jones, who’s been hanging with Blac Chyna. We were told Rob threatened to do Pilot harm.
The allegations come on the heels of photos that surfaced showing Blac and Pilot making out.

We’re told Pilot is scared, partly because of a string of text messages, which include Rob telling Pilot, “Leave my wife alone. I’m not playing with you.” Our law enforcement sources say, there are other texts in which Rob generally threatens Pilot with physical harm if he doesn’t stay away from Blac Chyna, although as one source says, the threat is “a little murky and general.” We’ve learned LAPD’s Threat Management Unit is investigating.

All I want is for my husband to succeed – Aisha Buhari

All I want is for my husband to succeed – Aisha Buhari

Wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari, who recently criticized the appointments of some persons she alleged did not contribute to her husband’s emergence as president in the 2015 elections but have hijacked the government, has declared she is interested in the success of her husband’s administration.

She had earlier in the interview expressed her frustration about “the way things are going,” declaring “I am not happy. It was people that brought the government into power.
More than half of those people are not appointed into the government. Some people that are not politicians, not professionals, were brought into government. They don’t even know what we said we want and what we don’t during campaigns,” she said on the BBC Hausa service.

Both the interview and the President’s response in Berlin, Germany, drew mix reactions from across Nigeria, fueling speculation of likely cracks in the first family.

But in what appeared like a response to the heat generated by her interview and apparently her first public reaction, Aisha said yesterday at Beneshiek, headquarters of Kaga Local Government in Borno state, that her interests lie in the success of President Buhari’s government.

What I am after in particular is the success of my husband’s administration and he can’t do it alone except with the help of the governors, their wives and all members of our progressive party,” she declared at the flag off of nutritional foods and household utensils to Internally displaced persons who recently returned to their communities.

Looking calmer and smiling throughout the occasion, Aisha advised wives of political leaders, governors, legislators, local government chairmen and counsellors to work closely with their husbands for the well-being of the people.

She explained that the distribution of the food items and other relief materials for the returnee IDPs was sourced from donations by well-meaning Nigerians through her recently launched ‘Get Involve’ programme under her Future Assured project. She stated that the launching of the Get Involve “consolidated and united” Nigerians even as she thanked those who made donations for the programme, saying the people of Borno appreciate their gesture.

She said she was happy that the flag off of the food distribution took place, noting that it was in fulfillment of her husband’s campaign promise to resettle displaced victims of Boko Haram insurgency and rescue all citizen abducted or held by Boko Haram including the Chibok girls.

“We thank almighty Allah that we have started fulfilling some of the campaign promises that we made. This is the essence of leadership; you make a promise and then fulfilled it. We thank my dear husband who make sure peace is returned to the northeast states,” she said.

Wife of Borno State governor, Nana Shettima commended Mrs Buhari for the distribution, adding that it was the third time the First Lady would visit the state to attend to the humanitarian challenges of Borno people. She assured that she will continue to collaborate with Mrs Buhari’s Future Assured project through her Support for Widows, Orphans and Tsangaya (SWOT) programme.

Syrian airstrikes kill 35 people, including 11 children after hitting school complex in northwestern Syria (photos)

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Syrian airstrikes hit a school in Northwestern killing 35 people, 11 children and 7 women inclusive on Wednesday night-  and the death toll is expected to rise with many in critical condition.
UNICEF, the United Nation’s  agency for children, said that the strikes are a war crime.

“It’s a tragedy. It’s an outrage. And if deliberate, it’s a war crime. This latest atrocity may be the deadliest attack on a school since the war began more than five years ago.”” UNICEF executive director Tony Lake said in a statement.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the jets are Syria owned, but they could also be Russia owned as Russia and Syria have joined forces in the constant air attacks in war torn Aleppo area of Syria and many medical and educational facilities have relocated to underground bases to continue operating.
