Algeria, Cameroon, Zambia drop

The Super Eagles, yesterday, moved up three places in the latest edition the monthly FIFA rankings released in Zurich.
The Eagles were ranked 67th last month, but have now moved up to the 64th position.
The marginal movement up the ladder is not unconnected with the points the Eagles garnered from the AFCON 2017 qualifier win over Tanzania during the period under review.
Ivory Coast, Algeria, Senegal, Tunisia and Ghana are the top five teams in Africa in that order.
Nigeria’s other 2018 World Cup qualifying opponents Algeria, Zambia and Cameroon dropped in the rankings.
Nigeria’s first opponent, the Chipolopolo of Zambia who will host the Super Eagles next month in the final round of the quailfying series for the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup dropping by one spot to 92nd in the world.
The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon dropped five places to 59th in the world, while Algeria who are still second in Africa dropped three places from 32nd to 35th in the world.
Cote d’lvoire remains the highest ranked team in Africa after moving up two places from 36th to 34th in the world.
