Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, at last had his peace of mind after the Supreme Court on Tuesday affirmed him as duly elected governors of the state.
With the Supreme Court ruling, the hope of James Faleke becoming governor and that of Idris Wada getting a second tenure has been quashed.
The seven-man panel of the apex court, headed by Justice Sylvester Ngwata, affirmed the election after it listened to the closing statements of all the counsels.
The apex Court said it will provide reasons for its decision on September 30.
Appeal Court had upheld the Election Tribunal judgement that Bello was the duly elected governor of Kogi State.

However, James Faleke, who was the deputy governorship candidate to late Abubakar Audu, who died before the final announcement of results by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the immediate past governor of the state and candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Idris Wada, refuted the Appeal Court ruling and took the case to the Supreme Court.
Faleke said his party the All Progressives Congress (APC), was wrong to have replaced late Mr Audu with Mr Bello.
