Edo State All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) women have harped on a comment referring to Edo women as prostitutes to further campaigns for the coming governorship election in the state.
The wife of the APC governorship candidate, Godwin Obaseki, Mrs Betsy, is said to have in an interview not too long ago alleged that PDP bad governance while it ruled the state was the reason many Edo girls went abroad to seek greener pastures.
However, some women leaders of the PDP said to be led by Mrs Evelyn Igbafe, interpreted her statement to mean that Edo women are prostitutes and have being insisting she must apologise, even as they use it to campaign against the APC.
But Dr Mrs Aisosa Amadasun, APC Women Leader in the state, in her reaction called Mrs Igbafe a political jobber and asked Edo people not to take her serious.
“One can only apologise for what he or she did but in this case Mrs Obaseki never did anything wrong because she never in that interview described our women as prostitutes as being labelled by Igbafe and her cohorts.

“Igbafe in the past six years has decamped three times, from PDP to APC, from APC back to PDP, she came back to APC and has gone back to PDP. Our joy as APC women is that any party she belongs to does not win election. Even when she came back to APC the second time that was why APC women rose up and asked her to go back to where she came from and we are happy she has gone back to PDP.
“We are happy she has gone back to the losing party which is PDP. Edo women are too smart to believe the lies she is trying to tell the people. She claimed she is a woman leader but she has no single woman with her,” she said.
